Signalling Devices Homologation
The homologation of signalling devices mainly includes 2 requirements: analysis of light distribution and verification of the CIE colour coordinates. The unique exception is referred to the rear fog lamps and day time running lamps (DRL), for which the thermal resistance test/illuminating surface area determination are required.
With the introduction of new regulations (daytime running lamp), new technologies (LEDs, optical guides, sequential direction indicators, ...), the possibility to dispose of different functions at several compartments (interdependent lamps or "Y" marked lamps) and the electronic controls for supply modulation (PWM) or lighting intensity variation (position lamps cat. R2, stop lamps cat. S2 and S4, rear fog lamps cat. F2) added complexity to the homologation process.
Only the samples to be tested are required to our customers, with the related technical documentation of the production process (for the first E1 homologation a KBA check is needed, while for the first E24 and/or Taiwan homologation copy of the ISO certification has to be presented), and the technical information of the device under test (technical drawings, electrical schemes, functions definition, ...).
Concerning INDIA (TAC) and China (CCC mark), we provide consulting and support in order to accomplish the initial assessment of the production plant, necessary to obtain then the certificates. Furthermore, we plan regularly witness tests, in our laboratories, with authorized agents. In this way we let our customers obtaining the certificates, saving time and money, avoiding shipments outside EU.
The offered service from our side comprises the check of documentation, the tests, the technical report and the relations with the approval authority.
Thanks to our experience and direct-line with competent approval authorities for possible interpretations, FAKT assists you in the correct definition of the device category, making simple and smooth the approval flow of your lamp.
